Founded in 2010, Give Eur-Hope promotes the solidarity of EU staff with those living in poverty and social exclusion in the European Union. The association finances and ensures the follow-up of targeted projects. Every euro raised goes directly to the beneficiaries.
GIVE EUR-HOPE founders wanted specifically to stress the indissociable link between the full respect of human rights and the fight against poverty and social exclusion. The Association is independent of any institutional, political, philosophical or religious affiliation.
GIVE EUR-HOPE aims to provide specific support to associations and NGOs in the EU which combat poverty and social exclusion in EU member states. Requests for support, which may be submitted at any time by individuals or NGOs working on the ground, are selected according to predefined procedures and criteria.
The Association operates entirely on a voluntary basis, which reduces is administrative costs.
In order to pursue its aims, GIVE EUR-HOPE calls on the generosity of EU personnel through its members’ subscriptions and occasional gifts from their colleagues to finance microprojects combating poverty and social exclusion in EU countries. These microprojects aim to support initiatives based on experience of those working on the ground and thus responding to the needs ad the reality of the poorest and most socially excluded.
Taking account of its resources, GIVE EUR-HOPE intervenes in defined but targeted areas: the construction or renovation of dwellings and care centres; the setting up of basic health facilities; training on citizenship issues; professional training and tutorial support.
Its monitoring system ensures the follow-up of projects funded.
